Fehrmanbelt tunnel between Germany and Denmark: 
Construction of the new Fehmarnbelt tunnel between Germany and Denmark started in spring 2023. This 18 kilometer tunnel will run largely under the sea between Germany and Denmark. Once completed, the 7 billion euro Fehmarnbelt will be the largest immersed tunnel in the world. This should form a connection between the Danish island of Lolland and the German island of Fehmarn, and beyond. So a new, shorter route for road transport between Germany and Denmark. The combined road and rail tunnel connecting Germany under the Baltic Sea with Denmark will make traveling to Sweden easier and faster from 2029.
